esme cullen

Esme Cullen (née Platt, previously Evenson), is a vampire and the matriarch of the Olympic Coven. She is the wife of Carlisle Cullen and the adoptive mother of Alice, Emmett, and Edward Cullen and Rosalie and Jasper Hale. Esme is the adoptive mother-in-law of Bella Cullen and the adoptive grandmother of Renesmee Cullen, as well as the ex-wife of Charles Evenson (when she was still human).
In 1921, after losing her child, Esme attempted suicide, though she was transformed into a vampire by Carlisle. Some time later, the pair fell in love and married; before building a family of like minded "vegetarian" vampires around them. Esme possessed an unparalleled ability to love those around her passionately, which allowed the members of her adoptive family to consider her as the greatest maternal figure in their lives.

Alice Cullen, born in 1901 as Mary Alice Brandon, is a vampire with the ability of precognition and is a member of the Olympic Coven. She is the wife of Jasper Hale and the adopted daughter of Carlisle and Esme Cullen. Alice is the adoptive sister of Emmett and Edward Cullen, as well as the adoptive sister of Rosalie Hale. Alice is the adoptive sister-in-law of Bella Cullen and the adoptive aunt of Renesmee Cullen. She also has a sister, Cynthia Brandon, and has a niece (Cynthia's daughter) living in Biloxi.
In 1920, after having been institutionalized by her family, an unknown vampire transformed Alice into a vampire to save her from the relentless tracker, James. Later, she was led to the love of her life, Jasper, after receiving a vision of him, and the pair subsequently began a life with the peaceful coven of the Cullen family.

emmett cullen

Emmett Cullen (né Emmett Dale McCarty) is a vampire and member of the Olympic Coven. He is the husband of Rosalie Hale and the adoptive son of Carlisle and Esme Cullen. Emmett is the adoptive brother of Alice and Edward Cullen, as well as the adoptive brother of Jasper Hale. He is the adoptive brother-in-law of Bella Cullen and the uncle of Renesmee Cullen.
After being mauled by a black bear in 1935, Emmett was rescued by Rosalie Hale, and given a second chance at life after being transformed into a vampire by Carlisle Cullen at Rosalie's request. Rosalie and Emmett were rarely parted after this, being that they were true soul mates. The pair were integral members of the Cullen family and participated eagerly in removing the numerous impediments it faced. Emmett is a vegetarian vampire like the rest of the Cullens and has gold eyes instead of crimson like most vampires. Having enhanced physical vampiric strength, Emmett is physically the strongest in the Olympic Coven. Emmett has massive muscles which cannot grow since he is a vampire. Emmett is married to Rosalie; they have a strong connection together.

Rosalie Lillian Hale (born 1915 in Rochester, New York), is a vampire and a member of the Olympic Coven. She is the wife of Emmett Cullen and the adoptive daughter of Carlisle and Esme Cullen, as well as the adoptive sister of Jasper Hale (in Forks, she and Jasper pretend to be twins), Alice and Edward Cullen. Rosalie is the adoptive sister-in-law of Bella Swan and adoptive aunt of Renesmee Cullen, as well as the ex-fiancée of Royce King.
In 1933, Rosalie was transformed into a vampire by Carlisle Cullen after being raped and beaten to the brink of death by a group of men including Royce King, her fiancé. Two years later, Rosalie rescued a young man named Emmett from being mauled by a bear, and after his transformation into a vampire, the two fell very deeply in love. Along with Emmett, Rosalie was an integral member of the Cullen family and fought eagerly against those who threatened them.

Edward was born on June 20, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. Though he has mentioned that he doesn't remember it very well, he grew up in an old-fashioned family life style. Edward wanted to enlist in the army during World War One while he was growing up. That changed, however, when he and his parents became sick from the Spanish Influenza in 1918. His father, Edward Masen Sr., died in the first wave of the influenza. Before she died, Edward's mother, Elizabeth Masen, begged the doctor who was taking care of them, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, to do everything within his power to save her son. Elizabeth: "You must do everything in your power. What others cannot do, that is what you must do for my Edward." Carlisle acted on her wishes when Edward was near death himself. After Elizabeth died, Carlisle took Edward from the hospital, brought him to his house, and therefore changed him into a vampire.
Edward had a rebellious period at the beginning of his vampire life and left Carlisle and Esme in 1928. During his lone time, he used his mind reading ability to attack the worst people of society, thinking as long as he was serving justice, it would not matter that he was feeding on humans. A few years later, he regretted this decision and returned to Carlisle's way of life in which animal blood, rather than human, is their source of sustenance. Over the next 80 to 90 years, additional vampires were created by Carlisle as a last resort for a select few nearly dead, and left-for-dead individuals who then became part of the Cullen family, known to vampires as a coven. Esme, a distraught, grieving mother of a dead child, became Carlisle's mate and Edward's adoptive mother. Rosalie Hale, a would-be socialite left for dead by her fiancé, was originally intended as Edward's mate, but never became more to him than a sibling. Emmett Cullen became Edward's adoptive brother after Rosalie found him near death from a bear attack and fell in love with him. Already vampires, Jasper Hale and Alice Cullen sought out and found the Cullens and adopted themselves into the family after both escaping thier tragic pasts.

carlisle cullen

Carlisle Cullen was the son of an Anglican pastor. He was born sometime in the 1640s in London, England during a time of religious and political upheaval. Carlisle's father and other pastors led hunts for werewolves, witches, and vampires, claiming that they were attempting to rid the world of evil and sin. Many a time, however, these groups would end up killing innocent citizens. As his father aged, Carlisle was put in charge of the raids after these creatures. He was less at ease about killing as his father was, but he was intelligent enough to find a real coven of vampires inhabiting the sewers of London. Carlisle led the hunt after these vampires, and in the chaos that ensued, he was attacked and left bleeding in the street by a vampire. Knowing what his father would do, Carlisle hid himself in a potato cellar for his painful transformation, emerging three days later as a vampire. Carlisle was repelled and horrified by what he had become, and tried various ways of killing himself, including starvation, drowning, and jumping off cliffs. Eventually he was so desperate for blood that while he was hiding in a cave in a forest he attacked and fed on a herd of passing deer. He found that he could survive off animal blood and he considered this much more humane than drinking the blood of a human, there by killing them.
Carlisle found new life in this fact and over the course of about two centuries was able to perfect his ability to resist the bloodlust caused by the scent of human blood. During these two centuries, Carlisle studied at night, becoming a "nighttime patron of the arts." As a result of his meticulous studying, Carlisle was able to become a brilliant doctor. Carlisle was studying in Italy when he stumbled across a coven of ancient vampires called the Volturi that included three vampires named Aro, Marcus, and Caius. They were much more educated and refined vampires than those living in the sewers of London, but still drank human blood. While they attempted to convert Carlisle to his natural food source, their attempts were unsuccessful. Carlisle then moved on to the New World; there, he ended up working night shifts in a Chicago hospital during the Spanish influenza epidemic. During this epidemic, Carlisle encountered a dying woman named Elizabeth Masen. Her son, Edward, was dying of influenza as well. Elizabeth begged Carlisle to do anything within his power to save her son as she lay dying. Out of loneliness, and armed with the knowledge that Edward was alone in the world, he changed him and Edward became his companion.
Not long after, in 1921, Carlisle and Edward moved to Wisconsin, where Carlisle treated Esme after a failed suicide attempt spurred by the loss of her child. Carlisle felt compelled to save her life, having already treated her for a broken leg in her adolescence, and changed her as well. They soon fell in love and married.

Carlisle then turned Rosalie Hale, a young woman who was raped and almost killed by her drunken fiancé and his friends, who then left her in the street to die. Later, while hunting, Rosalie found a young man named Emmett who had been mauled by a bear. She carried him over 100 miles to Carlisle to be changed. Around 1950, Mary Alice Brandon and Jasper Whitlock joined his coven. Alice and Jasper met circa 1948, and sought out the Cullens based on one of Alice's visions. Rosalie and Jasper pose as twins, taking the surname "Hale", while Alice changed her name to Cullen. (The whole of the coven is referred to as "the Cullens", despite Rosalie and Jasper using the name "Hale".)
Much later, Carlisle and his family moved to Forks, Washington where they had lived previously (before Alice and Jasper joined them) and had made a treaty with the Quileute tribe, led by a werewolf named Ephraim Black. The treaty stated that the Quileutes would leave the Cullens alone and not reveal them to humans if the Cullens would refrain from biting humans - whether to kill or change them - or trespassing on Quileute land. Because of the treaty, the Cullens were able to live in relative peace.

Cedric Diggory was an extremely handsome boy with gray eyes. He is quite tall and the quiet type (PA9). In 1993, when he was a Fifth Year, he took over as Captain and Seeker of the Hufflepuff House Quidditch team. He was a very good student and a prefect. In 1994, he took Cho Chang to the Yule Ball and they were romantically involved (GF23).
Cedric was selected by the Goblet of Fire to represent Hogwarts in the Triwizard Tournament (GF16), which indicates that he was also well on his way to becoming a powerful wizard. He competed honorably and did well, finally tying Harry Potter for the Triwizard Cup. However, he was killed by Wormtail on Voldemort's command when the Cup turned out to be a Portkey taking them to a lonely graveyard (GF32). Dumbledore eulogized Cedric at the Leaving Feast with the famous “Remember Cedric Diggory” speech:
"Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory." (GF37)

Cho Chang

Cho Chang is a popular, pretty Ravenclaw student who was Harry’s girlfriend for awhile. She loves Quidditch – she has been a fan of the Tutshill Tornados since she was six -- and was the Seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team (PA13, GF22, OP12).
Harry saw Cho for the first time his third year at Hogwarts when the Gryffindor team was about to play a match with Ravenclaw. His reaction, which surprised him a little, was that she was very pretty. As that school year went by, he developed a crush on her.
At the start of the 1994-95 school year, when the Triwizard Tournament was announced, he imagined himself winning and seeing her face shining with admiration for him. Later, when Harry found out that he was expected to ask a date to the Yule Ball He tried to work up the courage to ask Cho, but by the time he managed it, she had already accepted an invitation from Cedric Diggory, who was also one of Harry's rivals in the Tournament . She and Cedric became a couple after the Ball, much to Harry’s chagrin.
Harry's jealousy kept him from acting on the advice Cedric gave him about the golden egg until it was almost too late. In the second task, she served as hostage for Cedric to rescue, spending several hours deep under the lake in a bewitched sleep. When Cedric was killed at the end of that year, Cho was devastated.
In her sixth year, Cho joined Dumbledore’s Army along with her friend Marietta Edgecombe. Mutual interest between Cho and Harry deepened by Christmas time, when she and and Harry had their first kiss. Sadly, the relationship never took off. Harry was distracted by Dumbledore's Army and Occlumency lessons, and Cho was still grieving for Cedric. Harry took her on a date on Valentine’s Day but felt awkward and uncomfortable the whole time. A few months later, Marietta exposed the D.A. to Umbridge and Cho tried to excuse her actions to Harry (OP28). He was unimpressed with her attitude and his feelings toward her cooled considerably. Their relationship ended, and Cho dated Michael Corner for awhile (OP38).
On May 1, 1998, Cho returned to Hogwarts to fight in the battle against Voldemort and the Death Eaters (DH29).
Cho is played in the movies of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" by Katie Leung.
